About Pilates

The Pilates method of conditioning can be the perfect complement to your fitness regime and/or rehabilitation program.  With an emphasis on breath, core conditioning and body awareness, Pilates exercises will have you looking toned, feeling revitalized and moving with ease.

Did you know ... Joseph Pilates originally called his training method Controlology?

Pilates Based Training
  • Emphasizes proper breathing and correct spinal and pelvic alignment
  • Promotes good abdominal (core) control and strength for ease of movement
  • Strengthens the core muscles to support and improve posture
  • Improves flexibility, agility and quality of movement
  • Leads to improved performance in sports such as golf, tennis, biking, skiing, skating etc.  Many athletes, (Tiger Woods to name one) incorporate  Pilates into their training regimen
  • Complements other training methods
  • Focuses on low impact/smooth movement exercises which are easy on the joints
  • Improves balance, alignment and muscle control
