Restorative Programs ~ Active Aging ~ Chronic Disease Management
Restorative Programs - transitioning to an active lifestyle
During my first few years as a trainer, it seemed that most clients approached me to help them fix something. They were tired of experiencing lower back pain, had stiff and aching joints or recurring muscle strains and injuries. These types of problems are often symptoms of imbalanced strength between muscle groups that work together. What aches is often a sign of overworked muscles that are compensating for weaker muscles. To be strong, flexible and pain free, our bodies rely on an amazing synchronization of muscle effort. Restorative Programs focus on re-synchronizing your movement patterns and building muscle strength. Sessions progress gently and systematically to build balanced strength and flexibility to “work out the kinks”. Once your 'basics' are in place, you will begin to feel stronger and re-energized in your day to day activities and will be able to ‘graduate’ to a more active lifestyle. Many of my clients who begin in a Restorative type program, progress to Personal conditioning programs. |
